JAMES HORSBURGH

About James

James was admitted as a Lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW on 6 July 2007 and as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia on 23 July 2008.

B. Comm, LLB, Master of Applied Law (Family Law).

In 2011 James graduated from the College of Law with a Master of Applied Law (Family Law) and in 2013 James became an Accredited Specialist in Family Law.

Family Law

James is an accredited specialist in Family Law and has over 15 years' experience in Family Law dealing with property and children's matters, children's care and protection, spousal maintenance, binding financial agreements as well as adoption.

Criminal Law

 James regularly appears before a wide variety of Courts ranging from NSW Court of Criminal Appeal through to appearing regularly in the Local Court of NSW.

James is a Member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and a Member of the NSW Legal Aid panel for:

• Care & Protection
• Civil Law

What James  does

Family Law - practising in both the Family Court of Australia in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

Criminal Law - practising in the Supreme Court of NSW, District Court of NSW and the Local Court of NSW.

Life Outside McINTOSH McPHILLAMY & CO 

When not at McMc James dedicates his time to lecturing at Charles Sturt University in the areas of Criminal & Family Law.

James is also passionate about the local community and is on the Board of Directors of St Stanislaus College, is a board member of Carenne Support Ltd, is the Vice President of Central West Rugby whilst is also on the Committee of Bathurst Bulldogs Rugby Club.

Outside of work James enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 daughters.
