Free Legal ADVICE Clinic

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation we have decided that attendance at our free, Saturday morning Legal Advice Clinic will be by appointment only. Simply call our office on 6331 1533 during the week and we will make an appointment for you.

McIntosh McPhillamy & Co is dedicated to the community and ensuring legal advice and service is available to everyone who seeks it. This is why we offer a FREE Legal Advice Clinic.

The concept started in 1992 after identifying a need within the community for legal support and advice. Ever since, we have worked with individuals to ensure they are well informed and can move forward with the best possible legal choices.

If you:

  • Wonder if the problem you face has a legal remedy
  • Think your question is too trivial to ask about or that it might be too expensive to find out the answer
  • Wonder if the lawyer is approachable enough to give an answer
  • Have no idea where to start to seek an answer to a troublesome issue

Then you need to come and visit our free legal clinic.

Below are some frequently asked questions about our free Legal Advice Clinic.

What will happen at the free Legal Advice Clinic?
You will individually meet with a qualified solicitor in an informal but confidential environment. Your solicitor will listen to your needs, explain your rights and advise on steps to take.

Do I have to make an appointment?
No, you do not need to make an appointment. All you need to do is arrive at the McIntosh McPhillamy & Co office at either of our conveniently located offices.  As some days are busier than others, it is best to arrive early.

Bathurst – Level 2, 230 Howick Street, Bathurst.
Phone 6331 1533
The Bathurst clinic is open from 9am – 11am, every Saturday (except long weekends, Christmas and Easter).

Which lawyer will I talk to?
The experienced lawyers at McIntosh McPhillamy & Co are rostered to give advice at the Clinic. If there is a need for specialist advice whether it be family law, criminal matters, employment law and compensation claims or other areas and our specialist is not attending the clinic that morning, arrangements are made that specialist attention is provided during the following week, also free of charge.

Is the free Legal Advice Clinic successful in helping people?
The service has a great success rate in resolving issues for clients. Over 60% of enquiries are able to be resolved on the spot and for some people the practical advice that is provided at the Clinic will be enough to resolve the problem. For those who find that their issue has a legal remedy, they are armed with the information they need to make an informed decision on what to do.
